Samsung Minuet due for summertime release?
Samsung is readying a mid-range Windows Phone Tango device for a late June release, according to sources
Samsung is reportedly preparing a Windows Phone Tango-powered smartphone, dubbed ‘Minuet,’ for a summer release, and the company has Nokia’s Lumia range firmly in its sights.
The device is set to feature a 4-inch display, a 1.4GHz single-core CPU and may launch with a mere 256MB of RAM, which, without being a major setback, wouldn’t do the device’s performance any favors.
The guys over at WPDang believe that the Minuet will be positioned to take on Nokia’s popular Lumia 710 with another device, the Mandel, being prepped to take on the higher-end Lumia 900.
Samsung has been hugely successful in the Android market, accounting for over 25 percent of all ‘droids sold. It would appear that the company has every intention of repeating its success in the Windows Phone market; news that is likely to unsettle the previously resurgent Nokia, as it deals with hardware problems plaguing its own Windows Phone devices.
