Samsung Galaxy S III for US Cellular launching in July for $199

US Cellular’s Samsung Galaxy S III Android smartphone will sport a dual-core S4 processor and run Android 4.0 ICS

U.S. Cellular on Friday announced the upcoming pricing and availability of its very own Samsung Galaxy S III variant. The much-anticipated smartphone will go up for pre-orer on June 12 and will launch in early July at U.S. Cellular retail stores and at www.uscellular.com.

The announcement by U.S. Cellular comes just days after T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T all announced pre-orders for the Galaxy S II. All of the variants were said to be landing early this summer, so U.S. Cellular announcement was expected sooner, rather than later.

Samsung’s Galaxy S III, which was announced earlier this month in London, is the follow-up to the highly successful Samsung Galaxy S II. The device features a 4.8-inch display and a polycarbonate casing. Samsung is positioning the Galaxy S III to be Android’s 2012 flagship.

U.S. Cellular’s Galaxy S III’s other features include a 1.5 GHz dual-core S4 processor, an 8-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. The device will launch with Android 4.0 ICS with TouchWiz 5.0 on top.

The Galaxy S III for U.S. Cellular will also offer a variety of pre-loaded apps so consumers can find directions and check the weather on the go. U.S. Cellular’s mobile TV application is also likely a go, as well as the carrier’s account app.

Again, the Galaxy S III will launch in July starting at 9 for the 16GB model and will cost 9 for the 32GB version. You can pre-order the USC version come June 12th from uscellular.com/gs3.

Any USC customers plan on picking up this beast?
