Is Lenovo getting ready to unveil their very own Android 4.0 Tegra 3 tablet?

A report suggests Lenovo is readying a super-powerful Android 4.0 tablet that will go tit for tat with Asus’ Transformer Prime

According to a report over at Engadget, Lenovo is apparently getting ready to unveil a tablet powered by Google’s brand new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS by the end of this year.

The device will reportedly utilize NVIDIA’s recently launched Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, arguably the most powerful mobile processor in the game. The tablet is also features a 10.1-inch display, 2GB of 1,600MHz DDR3 RAM, a fingerprint scanner, a front-facing camera and a full array of ports.

Engadget also mentions the Lenovo tablet has a “Fusion-Skin Body” as well, though we’re not quite sure what that means just yet. Could be a marketing gimmick or possibly some sort of soft-touch backing, but honestly were not sure. SlashGear seems to think it is some sort of easy-grip coasting to cut down on scratches.

Besides these details though, it really remains to be seen what else Lenovo has up their sleeves. There are still plenty of details missing. For example, we are unsure of the overall size and weight of the tablet. Not to mention, we also aren’t sure on WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, or even GPS.

No information on potential price, target, or release date has been released yet either, though Lenovo has targeted both consumers and enterprise markets with previous tablets. We wouldn’t be surprised to hear an official announcement in late November/early December seeing as the Transformer Prime is also launching around there.
Overall, if the report is the legit (and we believe it is), expect Lenovo’s upcoming Android 4.0 tablet to land just before Christmas.
