iPhone 5 and mini iPad rumored to launch in 2012

Apple rumored to release enormous iPhone and mini iPad in Q4 2012
Every tech geek and his mom has been rambling on about Apple’s iPhone getting bigger and its iPad getting smaller. At this point it sounds like the Cupertino, CA-based company should just make some kind of crazy sleek “phablet” and call it a day. But even then, the rumors would carry on.
The latest buzz comes from DigiTimes. The folks behind the site say that Pegatron Technology (an original equipment manufacturer for the iPhone 4S and the third-gen iPad) received orders for the next-gen iPhone to launch in September, along with a 10-inch iPad to follow sometime in the fourth quarter of 2012. DigiTimes purportedly learned these things after speaking with Taiwan-based supply chain makers. It also notes that the next iPhone is slated for a September release, though we’ve been hearing October up to this point.
Dates surrounding the iPhone 5 launch are not surprising in the least, but this whole iPad thing seems absurd. Apple *just* released its third-gen iPad in March. Are we really supposed to believe that the company is only going to let one season pass before it springs another on us? Sure, anything is possible, and that’s especially true in the mobile sphere—but we’re not sold on this yet.
What do you guys think? Does this sound like something Apple would do? Are you ready for a new iPad? How about that larger display on the next iPhone? Head over to our Facebook page and let us know what you think.
