HTC M4 and G2 to follow HTC M7 launch

HTC M Series

The HTC M4 and HTC G2 have appeared online as the next two devices on HTC’s roadmap after the M7

The HTC M4 and HTC G2 have appeared online as the follow up to the much-awaited HTC M7.

The HTC M4 looks like the higher class of the two, sporting a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon SoC, a 4.3-inch 720p screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13-megapixel camera, LTE support and running Android 4.2.

According to The Unwired View, the HTC M4 specs show a 1700mAh battery and 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera too.

The G2, on the other hand (not to be confused with the Galaxy S2 or in fact the T-Mobile G2), sits at the bottom of the scale, with a 1.0GHz processor, 3.5-inch HVGA screen, microSD card and only 4GB internal storage. It does support microSD cards, of course but most people are enthused by internal storage now, not wanting to go to the effort of changing cards when one is full.

With a 5-megapixel camera, don’t expect anything too flashy (excuse the pun) and a 1400mAh battery, this is clearly a little lower down the food chain than the M7 and M4.

The HTC M7 is rumored to launch just before Mobile World Congress, at an event in New York on Feb. 19.

The M7 is said to be arriving on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint and will be the first device to showcase the HTC Sense 5.0 user interface.

Other rumors (also courtesy of The Unwired View), show this device to feature a 4.7-inch 1080p screen which puts it on the larger end of the scale.

It will also include 32GB internal storage, a 13-megapixel camera, monster 2300mAh battery and will run on Android Jelly Bean.

Unfortunately, there’s no mention of Android Key Lime Pie arriving on any of these devices at any point soon, but we assume an update will be available once the new platform is launched at Google I/O in May.
