Apple delivers iOS 5.0.1 to developers with battery life fix

Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 to developers with a promise that a battery fix will come “in a few weeks”

Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 to developers with a battery life bugfix on board.

Apple has acknowledged that there’s an issue with battery life on iOS (particularly on the iPhone 4S) and promised that a software update will arrive sometime “in the next few weeks”.

An Apple rep speaking with TechCrunch explains:

“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks”.

Given that the iOS 5.0.1 build includes fixes for battery life, the update will likely come sooner than that. We hope that’s the case anyway.

In the meantime, if you are experiencing issues with battery life on your IOS 5 device, we recently published a quick and easy tip that might be able to put a Band-Aid on the problem until Apple’s official fix arrives.
